The Eleron Company or the Federal State Unitary
Enterprise, affiliated to the Federal Atomic Energy Agency is
the leading organization for producing physical protection and
alarm systems for vital state facilities in the Russian
Federation. Over its forty-year history, its main area of
activity has been development of security systems for nuclear
power plants, and other vital facilities.
The Company
develops modem scientific and technological conceptions for
protecting different types of facilities, including nuclear
power plants, nuclear material storage facilities and
transportation means, military facilities, state boundaries,
governmental buildings, major enterprises, museums, and banks.
It implements R&D, experimental and design work on:
- alarm units for facility
rooms and perimeters that are based on different physical
action principles that make it possible to uncover any method
of penetration into the facility or closed room; - access control and management systems;
- television monitoring and
detection systems with a broad range of functional and
tactical possibilities; - metal
and radioactive material detection systems; - automatic data collection and processing
systems for detectors that make it possible to connect any
number of transmitters and to implement the necessary
procedures and site acceptance/delivery tactics; - information protection devices and
systems, including software complexes for the automatic
high-precision detection of unauthorized information removal
devices; - rapidly deployable
systems of different classes.
Eleron participated
actively in creating the security systems for Moscow Kremlin
museums, Armory Chamber, Diamond Fund, Tretyakov Gallery, A.S.
Pushkin Fine Arts Museum, President Hotel and many other vital
facilities. In 2003, Eleron and the Domofon Service Company
developed and introduced the Strazh-R hardware/software
complex for monitoring the security of the residential sector
of municipal districts in the framework of the "Security of
Muscovites" Program.
Eleron works in a whole series of
new areas in detection systems and devices that can be applied
at different facilities. One of them is detecting violators
trying to penetrate the site from water. A system for
detecting underwater targets and underwater swimmers is about
to be completed. Another area of research is development of
new technologies for detecting smuggling of weapons,
explosives, fissile materials, poisonous and narcotic
substances and their traces on hands and documents. Such
technologies are being integrated into automatic passage gates
of a new generation. These devices can already be used for
people traffic control and quality of biometrical personal
identification.
There are innovative solutions for the
automatic detection of emergencies at sports and public
entertainment events with the help of intellectual television
systems. Such a software/hardware complex, which consists of
one or more wide-angle stationary survey television cameras, a
high-speed robotic television camera with extremely powerful
optics, and special software, can make it possible to detect
the initiators and participants of disturbances in real time,
to document events, and to take rapid action.
Another
promising area is usage of nano-technologies, nano-materials,
and nano-systems. They open up new possibilities for
substantially increasing the tactical and technical
characteristics of technical security devices and systems, the
effectiveness of protecting objects, and the implementation of
a number of other of vital state functions. Today, a
scientific and technological consortium is being set up at
Rosatom, while the necessary infrastructure for developing
nano-technologies for security systems is being developed at
Eleron. The main applications of nano-technologies in this
domain include:
- second
generation electronic ID docs and migration cards with a
nano-memory of 1-10 GB with
three-dimensional photographs; -
passive and active radio-frequency transmitters /
identifiers with ground and
space communication channels; -
smart dust intellectual transmitters; - early fire warning nano-transmitters;
- hyperspectral nano-analyzers of
trace concentrations of explosive, narcotic and dangerous
substances.
